NEA is a short film that delves into the narrative fusion of "Nearrealismo Mágico," an artistic blend of Italian Neorealism and Magical Realism rooted in the cultural context of Medellín, Colombia. The story follows Peluche, a young cab driver, on an intense journey through a single night of trials and surreal encounters that force him to confront his role in society, his struggles, and his personal identity. Utilizing non-professional actors and authentic local slang, the film paints an honest portrait of Medellín's unique cultural nuances and idiosyncrasies, making it both deeply grounded and universally relatable.

As part of the Buscando América project, NEA serves as an introduction to a larger cinematic universe that examines the complex realities of Latin America. This visually stunning short sets the tone for the feature-length film currently in development, blending drama, fantasy, and black comedy to question societal norms and celebrate the resilience and richness of the region's storytelling traditions
